Snow....Finally....

The kids have been waiting and waiting for the snow, to try out their new snow pants and to go sledding. Finally, they got a little taste of it. They called over a couple kids down the street to have snow ball fights and build a snowman. Well, they didn't really get the snowman done, the snow was actually too wet and heavy, but they did have a great snow ball fight that lasted about 3 hours. They had a ball and are now hoping for more snow, so they might actually be able to go sledding this winter!

Friend Party!

This is the year for the "friend" party! Every other year, the kids get to do a friend party, so this was that year! What craziness! But such fun for all! Kolton had 12 of his friends come to this party. A few from school, a few from church, and a few from soccer! We started out the party playing pop the balloon. Whoever got their 2 balloons (which were tied to their ankles) popped first, got first choice of the prizes. Next, we had 2 teams and they had to put m&m's on a plastic spoon and carry the spoon in their mouth across the room and bend over and see if they could make it into a large glass. The team to get the most wins! We had Little Caesars pizza (of course) for lunch, then played musical numbers. Everyone wins in this game. When the music stops, we draw a number. If you are on that number, you get to pick a prize out of the bucket. We might have one winner at a time, we might have 3 at a time. All in all, it is a fun game and everyone gets prizes! It was actually a great day outside, so we were able to go outside to do the soccer ball pinata! With that many kids, we had to make sure to use a plastic bat and that they were all blindfolded on their turn! We came in to open presents and eat cupcakes! It was a great party!

Happy Birthday Kolton! I cannot believe you are 7! We love having you in our family and you make life so spunky! Your absolute favorite thing to do is play soccer...and you don't just have fun, you attack! You are so kind to your brothers and sister and have made us breakfast multiple times. You are also very good and keeping your room clean. We love you so much and hope you have a great day! This year on your birthday, we woke you up to smiley face pancakes with candles in them! We headed to Fat Cats to go bowling and ate dinner at your favorite place, Sizzler! We had a "double" birthday family party, for you and Preslee. It was filled with soccer balls and princesses! Soccer and princess cupcakes, blowing toys, and other fun stuff! Happy Birthday!

Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas! We have had a wonderful Christmas and are so blessed. The kids slept until 7am, which was really nice! We spent the morning checking out what Santa brought and opening presents. Rexton received a bike and remote control helicopter from Santa; Kolton was VERY surprised, but very excited that Santa brought him an IPOD. He was told kids don't get those until they are at least 8 years old! Cam received a Hot Wheels Sky Jump Track from Santa, and Pres received a very nice pink arm chair for her room and a unicorn pillow pet. They all got everything they wanted, plus plenty more! We opened presents and received everything from basketball shoes to legos, from clothes to books. We then headed to church, which was a nice reminder of why we celebrate Christmas. Following church, we went to Grandma Jean and Grandpa Jays to spend time with my family! We had a very nice lunch, then opened presents there. We then headed to the Schaff party, had another nice meal, and opened more presents! By the time we got home, we were all exhausted! It was such and fun and special day.

Oh, I have to add...there is one picture of Rexton opening up a towel. I had to do that on a few presents (wrap something silly) because he was such a snoop this year. He found one present weeks before Christmas under the tree that said "eve" on the tag in tiny letters (this is how I know which ones they can open on Christmas eve). He found his and said, oh, here are my pajamas! So, that one I took to my bedroom and wrapped a towel instead. Another time he was pawing around and said, "Oh, this must be the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book I have been wanting." So...we wrapped a different book instead. He opened his trick gifts first, then we went and got his real presents!

Pre School Fun

Cam just loves his preschool! He loves to go and he loves his teachers and learns a lot. They went on a field trip to Lee's Grocery Store and learned all about where the food comes from and how it gets to the store. They also had the chance to have a short Christmas program and sing their Christmas songs they have been singing at school at the Ogden Ampthitheater. What fun times!

Happy Birthday Preslee! Wow, how time flies! I cannot believe our baby girl is 1! What a fantastic year with her! I have loved every minute and she gets funner and funner all the time! At 11 months, she took her first steps and has started walking. She loves her brothers and when they get home from school, she chases them saying "ba ba ma da ba ba." She loves to get their attention and make them laugh. And let me say, all 3 of them spoil her rotten! They give her their undivided attention, pull her all over the house on her ride-on toy, carry her everywhere (so it really is amazing she is even walking), give her loves, read to her, etc! Pres is getting her own personality and knows what she likes and dislikes. She LOVES to eat, most everything, including baby food. We thought she would stop eating it once she tasted lots of other "real" foods, but nope, she loves it all! She made the switch from bottles and formula to milk and sippy cups pretty easily and is all smiles most of the time! We love her so very much and can't wait to see what she has in store for our family in her next year!!!

Kolton's Basketball

This year Kolton was able to play North Ogden Rec Basketball. They combine 1st and 2nd graders and we had a few little boys down the street on our team, too. Bart was the coach and they had a lot of fun! Kolton takes his sports really seriously, so he was fun to watch get all into it. They really improve from the first game to the end. They learned a lot and Bart was so patient with these cute boys!

Weekend Getaway

We had a great weekend with my in-laws! We headed out on Saturday and spent the afternoon at the Children's Museum at the Gateway. We had never been there and we had a GREAT time! Preslee didn't have a winter hat, so Grandpa Schaff was determined to find her the perfect hat, which he did! We ate at the Spaghetti Factory, then headed back to our hotel for swimming and movies. We had an excellent breakfast buffet at our hotel and it was so nice to getaway and just play!

Halloween!

Happy Halloween! This year we had a great Halloween with two soccer zombies, Captain America, and little miss Skunk! We had a couple neighborhood parties, Kolton had a class party at school that I got to help out with, and of course, the fun of Halloween night, trick-or-treating, eating pumpkin-shaped pizzas, and having rootbeer floats.

Cam had a great birthday. On the morning of his birthday, we had his favorite (powdered donuts) with candles on top while we all sang to him! Later, we had a fun party for him with family. Cam is not one that is into "toys." Instead, he likes to invent and experiment with anything and everything. He will glue and tape several things together or he will get my tupperware out and fill it with water, fish crackers, any candy he has, ice cubes, food coloring, and so on and so forth. Then he will freeze it and check on it throughout the day. Sometimes I will have 7 or 8 good sized tupperware containers in my freezer! So...he was really excited to receive a bucket full of supplies for creating all sorts of crafts and experiments, a penguin shooting game, playdo, wheels that connect and turn each other, and a pinata. Let me explain the pinata. Cam LOVES to make pinatas. As seen in a previous post, he makes pinatas out of boxes, such as for the goldfish crackers, granola bars, etc. When we would ask him what he wanted for his birthday, he kept saying a pinata! So, we got him a pinata filled with candy that we all played on his birthday! And from his Grandma Neil, a ticket to Disney on Ice, to go with his best bud Craiten! We love you so much Cam and you constantly have us laughing (and doing experiments)!

Poor, poor Cam. He is adventurous. He is a climber. He is crazy. And he has 2 older brothers. This time around I have people asking me if he has a bone disease. Others asking if he has leukemia. I am starting to get a bit nervous. I figure the doctors would have mentioned this, if they were at all concerned. At the next appointment, I ask them to please make sure his bones look okay and that his labs are okay. Yes they are, they say. Is he adventurous? they ask me. Well, yes! Does he climb a lot? Yes! His bones look great. His labs are fine. He is just a bit crazy. Phew.

So, one cozy night, Rexton and Cam were on his loft bed. Not messing around. Not even being roudy. Actually being quite good, just reading and looking at toys. Of course, no, I am not in the same room. Are we always in the same room as the kids? I am just in Preslee's room, doing a bit of a diaper change. I hear a really loud boom. I thought somehow someone's dresser fell over. Then, I hear crying. I run in and Cam is on the floor. I had him walk to the couch and could tell just by looking at him, that he broke his arm. They say he went to sit down, but instead of sitting on the bed, sat on the wall thing that guards you in the bed...ya know? Back flipped off of it. So, off we go...again. First to the instacare, then to the orthopedic clinic.

St. George Marathon

For some reason, I never post our yearly trip to St. George for the marathon. Maybe it is because it is something we do every year, but still, I should post about it! Anyway, my mom runs the St. George marathon every year. We are her support team and we have gone every year for about 20 years. Now it is the grandkids watching for her and yelling her name! We are so proud of her. Every year it is so awesome to go and watch! We have such a fun weekend, too. For the past 7 or 8 years, we have camped at the Templeview RV. At first, we stayed in a tent, even after having Rexton and Kolton. Then we upgraded to our tent trailer. And the past couple of years, we have taken my in-laws fifth wheel! We love templeview RV. It is in the center of town, we can bring our dog, Chex, it is inexpensive, and has a pool, hot tub, game room, etc. We also have taken the kids to Tuachan the past few years. This year the play was The Little Mermaid...last year it was Beauty and the Beast. Since we know we come down each year, we get our tickets a year in advance and get on the front row. We all love it! It is such a fun little trip and we are so glad we have a good reason to head to St. George the first of every October. Go Grandma Jean!!!

Waterfall

On Sunday for family night we decided to hike up to Waterfall. The kids love to hike and did a great job. Even Cam hiked the whole thing, other than Bart tossing him up the hill a few times to give him a boost! We brought sandwiches to eat at the top and we (especially me) were glad to make it to the waterfall!

First Day of Preschool

Cam has honestly been asking for a good YEAR when he gets to go to school. For heaven's sake, he is only 3 years old! Anyway, he is VERY excited to finally get to go to preschool! He will be attending Wee Wonders (the same preschool both Rexton and Kolton went to) and we have loved this preschool. Cam had a GREAT first day and is so excited to go back! He will go on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 to 11:30.

Soccer Soccer Soccer

Rexton and Kolton are both very into soccer. Rexton plays comp year round and Kolton wishes he played all year (but he's not old enough yet)!!! Tournaments all summer, then the spring and fall comp season, and indoor all winter. Kolton is constantly asking if he can go practice with Rexton at his practices and is so excited for his own season to start. At least he plays indoor during the winter, too, he just doesn't play in the summer yet. Anyway, Rexton played in 4 tournaments this summer, but I could only find a picture of one of them. Oh well. They played in the Cache Valley Cup (in Logan), the Pioneer Cup (Layton), the Striker's Cup (Layton), and the Mayor's Cup (Centerville). Honestly, I can't remember which one they won and which one they got 2nd and which one they didn't do so hot. I do know that they had a great time, got a few medals, and the team got this CUP at one of the tournaments and the coach let's them each take it home for a week, then they bring it back for the next player to take home. Fun, fun!

First Day of School

Wow, it is the first day of school already! My kids are really excited to go back to school and I love it that they are excited! Rexton is in 3rd grade this year and Kolton is in 1st grade. I can't believe we have 2 in school for the full day. Rexton is really excited though to have Kolton to walk with to the bus stop every day. It takes them about 10 minutes to walk and we are the last house on the street, so we have the longest walk. Most of the other kids that catch the bus live closer to the bus stop. We are excited for a great school year!

Summer Fun

Summer has gone by so fast and we have had such a fun summer! We have gone to North Shore swimming a few times (where Kolton went off the high dive for his first time and LOVED it), we also tried out Layton surf 'n swim, we had a neighborhood swimming party in Huntsville (thanks Nat), the kids have rode bikes all over, played sports outside, played on the slip and slide, and just had tons of fun!

I can't believe Rexton is 9 years old. It seems like not long ago that I was in labor for hours and hours, only to end up with a c-section!!! He was our first and we had no idea what we were doing!!! It has only gotten better and funner with him from day one. Rexton loves soccer and basketball - his 2 favorite sports. He loves school and reading. He has a good attitude and we love him in our family. He is a great example for his younger brothers and sister and is a big help to both Bart and I.

This year was his year to have a birthday party. We went to The Peak, where the boys could play on the equipment, jump on the trampolines, have relay races, and try to knock each other off the balance beams with noodles. He invited 10 of his best friends, and it is awesome to have him pick Kolton as one of his best buds! He has lots of friends in different places and ended up having a few kids from school, a few kids from soccer, and a few kids from the neighborhood but that go to a different elementary. What a fun mix of boys! They had a great time and Rexton had a great birthday!

We also had a family party for him and the one thing he really wanted this year was an ipod touch. He ended up getting one, but it was from us, from Grandma and Grandpa Schaff, Grandma Jean and Grandpa Jay, and Grandma and Grandpa Neil. He knew if he got an ipod that was all he was getting, so he was thrilled to see that his cousins, aunts and uncles brought him a couple of different gifts!

North Shore

I love summer time and being able to take the kids swimming. It is just so nice and makes me so happy to be at a pool, feeling the heat of the sun, watching the kids play in the pool, and maybe sipping a diet coke! It's really nice to live to close to the North Shore pool. This year, Kolton was really determined to try going off the high dive. Now he is only 6 and small for his age, so everyone that was watching was staring and tensing up, I think wondering what was going on! I was actually really nervous for him because although he had gone of the diving board zillions of times, I just hoped he could kick his way up fast enough from the high dive. Off he went. No problem! He loved it! He and Rexton went over and over, having a great time!

Real SL Soccer Game

On the 24th of July, we were able to take the kids to see Real play. For the soccer tournament Rexton played in that week, he got a free ticket, so we bought extras so we could all go. We went and ate first at the Spagetti Factory in SL, then went to the game. We played at all the booths before the game, then watched an awesome firework show after!

Colter Bay~Yellowstone

This summer, we went to Colter Bay for a week. We had a blast! On the way there, we had a few close calls with bikes almost falling off. Right before Jackson, Cam and Craiten's bikes (on the back of our tent trailer) both did fall off and we were dragging them. Cam's bike was a total goner, but it kinda protected Craw's. He just needed a new tire. We had to stop at K-Mart in Jackson to buy Cam a new Spiderman bike. We couldn't have everyone there with their bikes, and Cam not have one!!! On our first day after arriving, we spent the day at Colter Bay and Jackson Lake. We brought 2 pontoon boats and went on the lake and just had a great time camping. The next day, we went into Jackson Hole and that night went to the dinner and show at the Bar T 5. We took covered wagons up the mountain where we had dinner and a show. The kids loved every minute of it, and actually thought the show was really funny. On Sunday, we went into Yellowstone. The boys are at great ages for Yellowstone and also loved every minute of Yellowstone. We spent the whole day there. They thought the geysers were awesome. Cam is really into things exploding, so he thought it was great how everything seemed to be "exploding!" Monday we spent the morning at camp, then in the afternoon we went back to Jackson and went white water rafting. Because of all the flooding in the spring, the river was REALLY high. We had gotten tickets for both Rexton and Kolton to go down, but they wouldn't let Kolton go. We were lucky they let Rexton go. The week before, you had to be 12 to go, just because it was so high. Luckily, as of Sunday (the day before), they changed it to "adventurous 9-year-olds." So, off we went. Our river guide told us that normally at this time, the speed of the river is 8 cubic something-or-others...but because of all the flooding, it was running at 17 cubic something-or-others...so over double. So, faster and more dangerous, which made me nervous. Anyway, we ended up having a great time and no one fell in. We actually all jumped in at the calm part. All in all, we had a GREAT trip...one of the funnest we have been on!

4th of July!!!

I just LOVE the 4th of July every year! It is one of my favorite holidays! The parade, food, fireworks, family...it is all just so much fun! This year we started out with the children's parade in North Ogden at Cherry Days. They love to decorate their bikes the night before and ride in the parade in the morning. We stayed for the Cherry Days parade, then went to lunch at Jeremiah's. My in-laws put in an above ground pool this year, so we decided to spend the day over there with the kids swimming and playing basketball. We then had a BBQ and did our own firework show in the street (the kids are still young enough to absolutely LOVE our street show)!!!! What a great holiday!

Cam and his Pinata's

Cam has this thing he does...He loves to make pinata's. He thinks a pinata is pretty much any box that is empty (shoe boxes, large fish cracker boxes, large granola bar boxes from Costco, etc.) that he fills up with candy and then tapes all together. Then, he will wait for his dad to come home to hang it up so we can all bat at it. We do this once a week. It is Cam's favorite activity. How great that he has a dad that will take time out of his busy day to hang this pinata and let Cam have such a GREAT time!

Lakeside RV

Our first camping trip this summer was to Lakeside RV in Provo. So, not too far. It is right next to Utah Lake and next to the Provo River Parkway, so the bike trail is right by camp. It was actually SUPER hot, so it was fun that there is also a pool at this campsite! We were there 4 days and we swam, played games at camp, biked, and actually went to see Cars 2 at the theater in Provo!!!

We actually went to get family pictures of the "big" family, with my parents and Jason's family, but Lindsay's great sister Natalie took individuals as well. I am surprised any turned out, with that many people :)

Preslee 6 months

I can't believe Preslee is 6 months old already. Time has flown by! She is SO much fun to have in our family! She has found her voice and loves to talk (or squeal)! When she is happy she squeals, when she is mad she yells. She is quite loud! She loves her brothers and squeals when they talk to her. She loves her toes and loves to grab anything in her sight and within her reach! She sleeps about 10 hours at night and is an extremely happy baby. We love her to pieces!!!

Carver's Cove

This year we decided to try something different, so instead of going to the zoo, we went to Carver's Cove petting zoo in Eden. The kids LOVED it! Every single one of them. We saw horses, pigs, donkeys, sheep, goats, baby kittens, dogs, bunnies, chickens, and I'm sure others that I wasn't sure what they were. The kids also each got to ride on a horse. The kids could pet the animals and feed them out of their hand. It is something we will definitely do again!

T-ball

Kolton played t-ball this spring and had a fun time. Although, I'll be honest, he didn't like it nearly as much as he loves soccer. I think he got a little bored, actually. But I wanted him to at least have the experience of trying it out. And he did have fun, but when he had games the same times Rexton had soccer, he always asked if he could go to soccer with Rexton instead of to t-ball!!!!!

Camp Kiesel

Rexton was able to attend Camp Kiesel this week and had a GREAT time! He said it was the highlight of his summer so far!~ They played loads of games, rowed in canoes, shot bb guns, shot bow and arrows, made a craft, went on a nature hike, and had tons of fun the entire day!

Easter 2011

We had a great Easter! We did some egg coloring, several easter egg hunts, a pinata, and had tons of fun Easter morning and with both of our families later that day. The Easter Bunny came and brought treats and fishing poles and new scripture bags. At my mom's, we had an easter egg hunt and dinner. At Tamara and John's, each family had the same materials to make something for an egg drop. The winner got $50. We ended up winning...somehow!!! The pictures of the fam on the roof are them up there ready to drop our eggs...the other is a pictures of the kids watching them all!!!

Zion's and St. George

On Wednesday, we went down to Zion's. I had a conference there, so the family all came, too! It was great. Thursday, Bart took the 3 boys hiking and I took Preslee with me to my conference all day (my work is great to work with). Friday, we did a hike with our family and my work, then they headed home and our fam headed to St. George. We did tons of swimming, had lots of fun, and thoroughly enjoyed the warm weather!

Snow Fun

It snowed a good snow today, so the kids and I decided to try to build a snowman. Bart was sick, so we headed out (hoping Cam's casted leg would be fine in a grocery sack). We played for about 3 hours and also built a snowman! There are some days when we all love the snow :)

Another broken bone...

Cam is struggling...he is just struggling! His cast for his broken elbow has been off for 2 weeks. Friday, I came home and saw their little heads bobbing up and down over the fence. I was so excited!!! Bart had put the tramp up! We had all been waiting and so excited to put the tramp back up. A few minutes later, in come Rexton and Kolton. Where is Cam? we ask. Oh, he's out on the tramp still...crying, they say. Bart goes out to get him and he can't walk. He says he was bounced too high. So, we give it an hour and he is still not standing and still whining. So, we go into the instacare, just to be sure. They x-rayed it and tell us it's not broken - at least they can't see any breaks. Thank goodness. I am feeling so relieved. By Monday, still no standing at all. Trust me, we tried to get him just to "try it" and he would, but it just wasn't working. Monday morning, I called the orthopedic clinic he went to for his broken elbow. I told them he still isn't putting any pressure on it and can they just maybe fit us in to see what might be wrong. They are SO kind and fit us in that day. And what do you know, yes, he broke his leg...right under his knee. Another hard cast. Here we go again.

Lovin' the book fair

My kids love the book fair. I love that they love to read, but the book fair can get spendy. This time, I bought them one book, but anything else they wanted they had to use their own money. The minute we got home, this is what it looked like :)

He lost a tooth!!!

Kolton lost his first tooth! He is so excited. It has been loose for a while. I kept asking him if I could pull it out...finally he said yes! I got ready to pull it for him and for some reason I couldn't bring myself to do it. So, he waited until his aunt Andrea came over to pull it for him!!!

4 Weeks Old...

Wow, I can't believe Preslee is already 4 weeks old! I absolutely LOVE having a newborn. Why is it though, that there are so many mixed emotions with this? I don't want her to grow at all because the newborn stage is always so short and so precious. Yet, I want her to grow so that I don't have to be so worried about her getting a cold or something and being so tiny. For the most part, we have kept her at home. She has gotten to go to her grandma's a couple times, but that's it so far :) The boys are loving her and always want to hold her and rub her hair. Cam calls her "his little princess" and will say "she is so beautiful, huh mom?" The first few weeks she was up a lot in the night, not fussy (thank goodness), just up. The past few nights she has started to go about 5 hours during the night before eating, then going back to sleep after that (for the most part). It is great to get a 5 hour stretch of sleep in a row! We are all enjoying this time with Preslee and love having her here in our family.

Today, Kolton turns 6...wow how time flies! We actually celebrated his birthday the first part of December before Preslee was born. We had both of our families over for dinner and a Phineus and Ferb party! He loved it! We had Phineus and Ferb cupcakes and goody bags for his brothers and cousins and he got to wear a badge that said "Special Dude." He got lots of fun stuff and had a great time! Today, on his "real" birthday, Bart took the day off and we first went to lunch at Sizzler - his favorite place to eat - then I went back home to be with Preslee and Bart took them to Boondocks. Originally, they were going to go to the Clearfield pool, but since Cam broke his arm, we had to try to talk him out of that so that Cam could go too. So, off to Boondocks they went! They had a great time bowling and playing games! That night he had a couple of presents to open, and my wonderful neighbor offered to bring us dinner (from having the baby) and she found out it was also Kolton's birthday and brought him balloons and a soccer cake and sang to him at the door. It was the icing on the cake for him!

Christmastime was eventful, as always, but very special this year with our new baby to join us for Christmas! Before she was born, we were able to go to a few Christmas parties and enjoy our time together. On Christmas Day, the kids had a great time looking at their gifts from Santa, plus a couple of "family" gifts from Santa, including a new basketball hoop for outside. My family came over in the morning to join us for breakfast about 10am, then later that day we headed to Bart's family (Preslee's first outing) to join everyone there. We were careful to bring our hand sanitizer everywhere we went and tried to keep Preslee in her carseat most of the time (away from the crowd), except to eat. We all received way too much and I am always overwhelmed and grateful for our many blessings...most importantly, having family so close to us during these special times.

After being home from the hospital for 2 days after having Preslee, Cam (who has always been a climber) fell off his bookcase. Don't worry about the bookcase, it is not way high and Bart made it, so it is one of those heavy duty wood ones that doesn't budge or fall over on him or anything like that. Since it is so sturdy, I guess you could say it is climbable!!! Anyway, he has a hoop hanging above the bookcase that he says he was trying to hang a balloon from the net, which is when he fell, breaking his elbow in 2 places. Poor little guy. I'm actually quite surprised it hasn't happened before now, but he has been in a lot of pain. He was sent to an orthopedic surgeon and depending on how it heals, he might have to have surgery, but we shall see!!! Oh...I also have to add that Cam is really into Mickey and Minnie Mouse lately, but lately, especially Minnie. He says he loves her. When we asked him what color of cast he was going to get, he said "pink - to match Minnie Mouse." Luckily, we talked him out of pink and into black - to match her ears!!!

I can't believe Halloween is here for another year! But we LOVE Halloween! We had many fun activities. It started with a neighbors Halloween party a couple weeks before Halloween, followed by Kolton's school party closer to Halloween, the school carnival that night, Andrea's Halloween party on Friday, Saturday night trick or treating, and finally Sunday, having a Halloween/Birthday party for Cameron, Craiten, and their cousin Chloe at Grandma Schaff's! The kids had a blast. Rexton was some kind of scary monster, Kolton was Bumblebee (although a couple times he dressed up as Captain America), and Cam took his turn being Mickey Mouse, Spider Man, and Bumble Bee! I have to add that on Sunday night, we did a pinata. Cam was SO excited about this Frankenstein pinata and had to show EVERYONE. But when his turn came to bat, he tried it once, then threw a big fit and did not want to hit Frankenstein. All the kids took about 3 turns through and each time we asked Cam if he wanted to go and he said, "No, I scared of it." We still aren't sure what he was scared of: actually hitting the pinata, or just that it was Frankenstein, or even that he loved it so much all day, that he hated to see it get ruined! He did love when the candy spilled out though, and ran and got his share!

Cameron is 3 years old! Yay! He has been waiting for his birthday for a while and was SOOOO excited that it finally came! So, I have been waiting and waiting to post about our new baby that is on the way, but my first thought was we will wait to see what we are having! Well, the first time came and went and they told us it was a girl. I believed it about the first day or so, then decided they just had to be wrong. Aren't we made to have boys? I mean, we have 3... So, the next month, they told me it was a girl again. So, I thought maybe they were right and I even went on those cute websites to try to get one of those baby countdown things going on our blog. Being NOT technical savvy, I couldn't figure it out. By that time, I started to wonder again if we were really having a girl. Now, we have been told 3 times at 3 ultrasounds that it is a girl. So, I decided to post it! I guess we will see in 3 months if they are correct! Although we have already spent a fortune on girl stuff and a girl nursery, so let's cross our fingers!

I'm not sure if I am happy or sad for this one!!! Kolton started kindergarten! It is kinda fun to have the first one go to school, but when it comes to having 2 in school, it freaks me out! It helped that Kolton has been SO excited to go! He goes in the afternoon, and on the first day of school, he was quite angry that he didn't get to go at the same time as Rexton! He loves riding the bus and going to the "big" kid school!

Rexton turned 8 on August 8th! We are so proud of him and love having him in our family! He LOVES playing soccer, as well as most sports, and loves his comp team. We went to an RSL game and he wanted a jersey and shorts for his birthday! We decided not to have a friend party this year so we took the family to Toad's to play laser tag and a few games and then he chose Sizzler to eat (his favorite restaurant). His grandma and grandpa Neil gave him all of his stuff for cub scouts with many extras, and he got a set of his favorite books, The Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Thanks to my great friend Jaime for making him an awesome soccer cake! We love you Rexton and are looking forward to your baptism!

Camping at East Canyon

We had a great camping trip at East Canyon! It was very hot though. We got there on Friday and went boating and tubing and had a great time. Saturday morning, the boys all went fishing and on the way back the hydraulics and steering went out on the boat. They used the trolling motor to get it onto the trailer. We were also able to spend time in Park City and go on the Alpine Coaster, as well as to Main Street where they had a market going on with a kid area. On Monday, my father-in-law rented a boat, since one of his son's and their family had come to Utah from New York and had been so excited to spend time boating! We had a great time being with family!

We have had our first broken bone in our family of boys! Kolton broke his hand. He actually fell off his bike the Thursday night before we left for camping at East Canyon. While we were camping, it swelled and bruised a bit. He really didn't complain about his hand at all though. In fact, we went boating, tubing, and took him on the Alpine Coaster! Tuesday morning when we got back it was still swollen, so I took him to the Instacare!

We have had a few different fun times of boating at Willard Bay this year. Last night we really just went to swim around the boat because it was SO hot, but Bart thought it would be fun to bring this slide and have them slide off the boat. We ended up staying for hours, just playing in the water and on the slide!!!

Camping in the Uintahs

July 9th - 12th we went camping in the Uintahs to Smith and Moorehouse! It was awesome!!! It was so beautiful and we had a great site with a large area for the kids to play. Pretty close by was the river. Friday we set up camp and explored our site, had a campfire and roasted smores, then played mafia for hours, which the kids really got into (for some reason)! Saturday we spent a lot of the day on Smith and Moorehouse lake on the pontoons and in the kayak. Sunday, we hiked and hung out. Monday we went back on the lake before it was time to pack up and leave. The kids and the dogs and all of us loved it! Although, we were very excited to get home to shower and get clean!!!

Indoor Soccer

Rexton has been playing indoor soccer all winter. His team is the Aliens and he has loved it and learned a lot. These pictures were taken on the day of the last game. His coach took them into a room and called each player up and told what they did so well and had really improved on and gave them a trophy. She is a very positive coach. His team is now forming a comp team for the 2010-2011 season and they will be playing for La Roca! They are a cute team with an awesome coach and are so excited!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July that started off with the kid's parade, followed by the Cherry Days parade! We always go to lunch after the parade and then take the kids over to the little carnival. We finished off the night watching the fireworks at Weber High. We actually were able to watch them from my sister-in-law's parent's backyard, who live right by Weber High! The kids loved it and we had a great time!

Preschool Graduation Party

For Kolton's graduation party, they make a carnival for the kids and give them a punch pass to do each activity. They also get to eat lunch with their friends. This year at the carnival, they had face painting, cotton candy, a dart throw, ring toss, hula hoop toss, and a few others that I can't remember! He had a great time!

Kolton officially graduated from Wee Wonders preschool! He has loved this preschool and was able to go for 2 years! He loved making new friends and learned a TON to prepare him for kindergarten. We are so proud of him! The night of his graduation, Bart and I got to Orion Jr. High for the program. Rexton had a baseball game and my parents had to work. When we got there we were looking at the program and noticed about 10 minutes before the program was to start that Kolton and one of his little friends were singing a solo! We had NO idea! I sure hoped he knew this song he was singing because I had never heard him sing it before! He did great and it was so fun to see him do this!

This is the newest member of our family, Chex. Bart has been wanting a dog for a while, and I really didn't want a dog. I caved and figured my 4 boys (Bart and the 3 kids) should have a dog. I did have one stipulation though. I did NOT want a puppy. Cute as they are, I could not be training a puppy right now with the chewing on everything, potty-training, and ALL of that - you know the drill with a puppy. Anyway, we lucked out and got a GREAT dog. She is a yellow lab and is exactly 2 years old. She is potty-trained, totally out of puppy stage (other than has lots of energy, but that is good), she sits, shakes, and speaks, and she LOVES kids. She has been so easy-going and loving and thinks she is a lap dog and tries to sit on all of our laps. I really did not want her on the couch or the bed, but she loves soft, comfy places, so here I caved again and allow it, as long as their is a blanket under her. We all love her tons already and have only had her 2 weeks!

Saturday we headed onto the Disney Magic! Yay! We were so excited! We went on the cruise with my in-laws, and all of their kids. There was a total of 34 of us! The kids loved seeing their cousins everywhere! In a nutshell, the cruise set sail on Saturday, on Sunday we spent the day at Castaway Cay, the private disney island. Monday, we were at sea. Tuesday we spent the day at Grand Cayman. Wednesday at Cozumel. Thursday at sea again. Friday, back to Castaway Cay. And of course Saturday we were back in Florida. We all had a great time!

Vacation!!! Discovery Cove

We just got back from an awsome vacation to Florida! We did so many things and I could go on and on forever, so I will try to stick to the basics!!! We flew into Florida on Wednesday and on Thursday went to Discovery Cove, so that is where I will start with the pictures!!! It was a little bit chilly that day, but we still had a great time. Bart, Rexton and I were able to swim with the dolphins, and Rexton and Kolton both tried snorkeling. We ate a ton and spent hours on their lazy river and touching the sting rays!

Okay, so since I am on a role right now with adding new posts, I decided to add one more!!! I almost wasn't going to post this because it is so precious, but it is worth it. So, Rexton was asked to play indoor soccer, and as many of you know, it costs a lot more than AYSO. Well, we wanted him to play, if he really wanted to, but also wanted him to know that he was making a commitment because this goes for 16 weeks. Anyway, we told him if he wanted to, he could, but would need to do a few extra chores around the house to help pay for a little bit of it. We really want him, as well as all of our children, as they grow up, to take responsibility for some of the things they do. Anyway, so this all took place on Saturday and he was pretty sure he wanted to play. Sunday morning, as we were getting ready for church, Bart found this in his church bag (and we had to take a picture). Just in case you can't tell what it is, it is a note saying "You can have these Dad. For indoor soccer. Please please please. I love you." At the bottom, his wallet (with $4.00 inside) is taped to the paper. If you have ever seen your tough-guy husband get emotional, well this one did it for Bart! Needless to say, we were both very touched. Of course we would have let him play anyway, but the fact that he did this all on his own, was very rewarding for a parent!

Cyclocross

School Days

Here is Rexton on his first day of 1st grade and Kolton on his first day of preschool! I am so excited for both of them. They have both loved it so far!!! I have to admit that I did okay with Rexton...I think it is because he knows a lot of the kids already around here that are his age, and he has always gone to school with his good friends Brex and Hunter. So, off he went and it was a bit teary for me, but okay and exciting for him! Today was Kolton's first day of preschool and I've been crying all morning. I don't know if it is the shock of sending the 2nd one, or because Kolton has always been more clingy, so it was harder to let him go, or even because I'm so used to Rexton going to school with someone - a friend - and Kolton is off on his own. Maybe it is a mix of all of those, but I have had a hard time with him leaving this year!!! I do have to add though that, although he saw me crying, he has been very excited the whole morning and went running into his preschool doors as I sat at the car and tried to smile at him!!!

Okay, I did not think I would post this, but I am all excited, so I thought I would!!! I just finished my finals at Weber State...yay! I went back to college about a year and a half ago, just part-time, right after I had Cam. Don't ask me what I was thinking at that time, but it all worked out, and I have been guided and helped all along the way. Many online classes were provided in my major that had never been held online before, and of course my wonderful husband and family were a huge support when I needed to study or take a night class. Rexton and I did our homework together sometimes!!! Anyway, I am finally finished with my degree in Psychology and a minor in Family Studies!

Last weekend over Valentine's we took a trip with 3 other couples for a snowmobiling trip to Yellowstone. We were gone 3 days and had a blast. We snowmobiled, hot tubbed, played games, and ate a lot! It was great! Thanks to my parents for having the kids! They definitely thought they were on a vacation, too!!!

What happened to my sweet little baby????

Cam has been the best baby ever. Before I had him, I heard over and over, the 3rd is the hardest. Well, to be honest, he has been our easiest and we have so enjoyed every minute of him. But lately, I'm not sure what happened...ha ha! Now don't get me wrong, he is still a crack up and still dang cute, HOWEVER, suddenly he has this determined little personality. I'll give you some examples...lately since it has been warmer outside (at least warmer in Cam's opinion), he thinks he can just go outside whenever he wants. He thinks he can go out and play in the street and get the mail. If he can't go out whenever he wants, he gives us this loud whining noise over and over. He is also suddenly fascinated with the toilet. If the bathroom doors are shut, which we now have to make a habit, he gives this same whining noise. He also thinks he can climb to Rexton's top bunk. When he cannot quite get all the way and we don't let him go all the way up, again, the loud whining noise...which eventually turns to a cry. One last example, although there are many more, eating out at a restaurant. He thinks he can roam the restaurant. Of course, the high chair is out of the question. What surprises me, is that he can be quite shy. But not at restaurants. He would go through the swinging doors if he could and chat with the staff - that is where he is headed when he gets going. If he can get to the handle on the dishwasher, or through the baby proofing, he will open it up and take out all the dishes and silverware that he can reach (including knives) and spread it all over the floor. Now you might be wondering where his mom is when the dishwasher happens to get opened or he happens to be climbing to the top bunk. Well, his mom is, like most mom's, not tied to him at the hip. She does, at times, have other things that need to get done around the house. He also has brothers that love him and if he is standing at the dishwasher trying to open it, they most kindly open it for him. Same for the bathroom doors. Isn't it so sweet???

That is what Rexton was singing right before Christmas! He lost his first tooth about 2 weeks before Christmas. It was loose and his aunt pulled it right out! He noticed a few days later that his 2nd bottom tooth was loose, but not nearly loose enough to pull yet. He was biting on a package of candy trying to get the lid off, and the other tooth popped right out!

Yes, I will admit it...I am being very lazy this year and I'm not even sending out Christmas cards. I always send out Christmas cards and for some odd reason, I'm just not this year!!! So, I am posting a picture of the fam. It's not the best picture because we are all hidden by coats, hats, and scarves. But the night this was taken was one of the funnest nights we've had together!!! We went up to the lights at Willard Bay, which we have gone to before, but this year, we bundled up and saw them on the hayride instead of in our car. The "real" santa was there, as well as real reindeer. Cam did not make a peep the whole night...he just loved the lights and being outside. For those of you who don't know, Cam would go outside and sit and freeze if he could, just to be outside! We have so much fun with our boys and each of their personalities! They are the best. Wonderful Fall

I think fall is my favorite season. I have loved this fall, because it has been a long fall. You know the times when it goes from being quite warm, to really cold, really fast...well, I don't like that. I love when it is chilly, but nice. It has been that way for a while now. We love to be outside, and have taken advantage of the weather. Saturday we all went biking on the Ogden river parkway, with Kolton and Cam in the bike trailer. Sunday, Bart took Rexton and Kolton hiking behind our house near the divide. Before they went, they were talking about what they wanted to look for. Rexton said, "How about beautiful butterflies." Of course, Bart tells him butterflies are nice and all, but how about some snakes and lizards!!! Ya gotta love boys!!!!

For our 10-year anniversary, Bart planned us a 4-day getaway to Vegas! We went to St. George the first day and biked along the trails there, which was really fun. The weather was perfect. The next day we headed to Vegas where we did tons of Christmas shopping, walked the strip, and ate and ate and ate! It was a fun trip! What a great 10 years!!!
